How To Be A Disciple That Make Disciples
TRAINING OTHERS TO MAKE DISCIPLES.
While Christianity may be viewed as the largest religion in the world, it embodies so much more. It’s the very opportunity given to humanity to connect in deep levels to God and to walk in the covenant blessings of sonship made available to us through Christ (Gal 4:4-5) That said, among the pillars that make a formidable Christian walk is discipleship. Jesus exemplified it by appointing the twelve who he expressly instructed in Matt 28:19 to go forth and make disciples of all nations. Paul, the apostle, also stated that as we have heard him teach things which were confirmed by many trusted witnesses.
We should go on to teach these truths to other faithful people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2. In line with these truths, our mission as a ministry is to train disciples that make disciples. So how is this made possible?
We All Need A Paul To Lead Us- Follow Me He Said
Jesus in his walk on earth set clear-cut guidelines on the basis of Christianity. For one, he ate with publicans, tax collectors, and sinners, so much that the scribes and Pharisees sought to find fault with Him. To their questions, Jesus replied that they that are whole don’t need a physician but they that are sick. Mark 2:17. Following His example and the example of Paul, our ministry reaches out to a wide variety of audience including those in halfway houses, transitional homes, churches, and home groups.
This outreach through trainers offers a discipleship training for these individuals cutting across those who are Christians in churches and home groups but have not accepted the call to be disciples who make disciples, those who want to live a crime-free life. Those who want to get back on their feet or make a huge transition in their lives, and those who want to be free from emotional, physical and mental disabilities. It’s a strategy that brings the light, and joy of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to those in need of hope and strength to carry on despite every limitation. In line with our mission, we have trainers well equipped to lead.
We Need A Timothy To Walk Behind Us.
There is a need for more people to learn to be disciples. Being disciples of Christ is primarily being His representatives on earth. It is reaching out to those in need and turning them into the loving arms of God so that they would experience the healing, hope, and restoration they so much desire. If this is done, the church would experience growth like never before. Furthermore, according to the Pew research center, 70 percent of Americans are Christians. However, according to a recently conducted gallop poll, church attendance has experienced no growth since 1940. This explains the need to go all out in training disciples that would go on to make other disciples.
We Need A Barnabas To Walk Alongside Us
Overall, Christianity by itself is a call to discipleship. With this understanding in mind and the ever-present need to propagate the gospel, we have set in motion several discipleships and kingdom training programs led by trainers who are impacting lives. However, there is a need for partnership to actualize our goals better. You might be the Barnabas that can walk alongside us. To partner with us in this kingdom expansion project, you can send your support by donations.
