Bringing Certainty to Uncertain Times
Television commercials keep reminding us we are living in uncertain times and that we’re all in this together. We watch the news and see the effects of a global pandemic, of social distancing, and of societal unrest due to the murder of a black man at the hands of rogue police officers.
It can be a bit much for a person to take.
Now imagine if you don’t have the hope of Jesus to lean into during these times and consider how heavy the weight is on those individuals’ minds and hearts as they watch what’s going on around them. If there is anything they need right now, it is hope. And that’s where you and I come in.
Though these are difficult times, we are not the only people in the history of humanity to go through hard times. Our circumstances are just different. But, regardless the challenges around us, our number one priority should be to disciple others and to share the Good News with everyone.

Our heart’s desire is that we would be a model in coming alongside people, especially in these times where many people are anxious, scared, and seeking comfort. Jesus said to be a fisher of men and women and Tony and I believe there is no better time than now to share the lifesaving, uplifting message of Jesus Christ.
We take the mission of the Great Commission seriously. However, you may wonder, how do we come alongside people when we’re supposed to remain socially distance in these COVID-19 times?
What we want to remind you of is that the original 12 disciples had no cell phones, no Zoom, no internet, no cars, no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no television…none of the modern conveniences you and I can take for granted.
Remember, we are Christians today because 12 dudes in sandals walked this Earth sharing the Gospel one relationship at a time. So truly, what is stopping us from doing the same with the tools we have that they didn’t?
We are embarking on a new season of disciple making.
I’m asking you to prayerfully recommit yourself to being a fisher of men and women – especially during this pandemic and social unrest. Coming alongside people in any time – especially now – doesn’t always mean in a physical sense but in a relational sense. It means being purposeful in reaching out to people – text, email, Facetime, phone call, to name four – and checking in on them.
Show Jesus’s love for others by being Jesus’ love to other.
It’s what the Great Commission has always been about.
